The 2015 Fast Friday festivities kicked off in the Economaki Press Conference Room where Katherine Legge and Beth Paretta were on hand to announce an all-female entry into the 2016 Indianapolis 500. Branded Grace Autosport, the entire team will be made up of females and will likely be partnered with another team on the entry. Paretta, the team's principal, says that they have a sponsor in place for the race.
The 5th and final day of practice before qualifications kicked off at noon. The start was slow, with very few cars turning very few laps. The track remained quiet most of the day with just 1,055 laps turned, but fortunately for both the Chevy and Honda camps, there were no incidents.
The most interesting thing to keep your eye on today was what the teams were running. The new Chevy sidepods were back again today after concern they were a partial cause of the Castroneves and Newgarden incidents. Some teams ran the new, some the old. Conor Daly late in the day removed their new superspeedway kit rear wing and replaced it with the old stock DW12 wing from the last 3 seasons. They ran only a few laps with the configuration. It'll be interesting to see what everyone runs tomorrow.
