Upcoming IndyCar Tests


With the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series season well in the rear view mirror, teams have already began gearing up for the 2013 IndyCar season.

Tony Kanaan and Simona de Silvestro tested with KVRT at Texas November 15th, and many more teams are scheduled to be hitting the track in the coming weeks.

Miles Named Hulman And Company CEO

The Hulman and Company Board of Directors announced today at a press conference held at IMS Productions the addition of Mark Miles as the new Hulman and Company CEO. Miles will take office December 17th.

"We are pleased to add Mark to the executive leadership at Hulman & Company," said Mari Hulman George, IMS chairman of the board. "The combination of his international sports experience and leadership of large-scale events like the 2012 Super Bowl, along with his diverse experience with public and private corporations, make him an exceptionally positive match for our business. His business acumen, his ability to cultivate and develop partnerships and the extensive network in sports and business he will provide will strengthen all of our business units. His service as a member of the Hulman & Company board of directors has prepared him to contribute to the organization from day one."

Miles, a Wabash Graduate, has extensive leadership experience including serving 15 years as CEO of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), Executive Director of Corporate Relations for Eli Lilly & Co., Chair of the 1987 Indianapolis Pan American Games Organizing Committee, member of the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis Board of Advisors, and Chair of the 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee in Indianapolis.

"It is an honor to join Hulman & Company, known for its tradition of success," Miles said. "I'm excited about joining the team and contributing my lifetime learning from international professional sports, large-scale major sports events and business environments. I have worked for companies with global profiles and brands, and I'm happy to continue that on behalf of the Hulman-George family and its significant business interests."

According to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway press release:
Miles will lead the overall business direction and management of Hulman & Company, including a key role in the refinement and implementation of the company's long-term strategic plan. Hulman & Company is comprised of Clabber Girl, Georgetown Realty, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, INDYCAR, IMS Productions and various other business entities
Jeff Belskus will retain his position as President of H&C, and IMS as well as current interim CEO of INDYCAR.

Diffey To Call IndyCar Events


NBC Sports Network announced today the addition of Leigh Diffey to both their IZOD IndyCar Series and Formula One coverage in 2013. Diffey will step in for the retiring Bob Jenkins who left the booth following the 2012 season to care for his late wife Pam.

Diffey currently works for SPEED, appearing on many platforms including SPEED Center and the Speed Report. The Charlotte resident has previously covered the American Le Mans Series, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, GRAND-AM, World Superbike, World Rally, CART, GP2, and NASCAR, just to name a few.

According to a NBC Sports Network rep, 'No other changes are planned' to the 2012 on-air talent lineup of Dallenbach, Beekhuis, Lee, Bell, and Miller.

The Australian native, Diffey, will be joined by David Hobbs and Steve Matchett as the networks Formula One booth trio.
