Bump Day Wrap Up

The 33-car Indianapolis 500 field was filled Sunday when the 9 remaining car/driver combinations took to the track for their first and last qualification runs of the day.

4-time Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais was quickest with a 223.760mph average, which would have been quick enough for the outside of row 5 in the 15th spot if the attempt was made on Pole Day.

Wade Cunningham, Oriol Servia, Ed Carpenter, Mike Conway, Katherine Legge, Bryan Clauson, Simona de Silvestro and Jean Alesi also qualified for the race.

The only incident of the game came after the nine qualification runs when Charlie Kimball drove below the white line in Turn 1 causing the car to spin and make contact with the wall. Kimball was okay.

The remaining on-track Bump Day hours were spent practicing, resulting in a Carb Day-esque feel.
