As first reported by the Indianapolis Star's Curt Cavin, Tomas Scheckter has signed on to pilot a Dreyer & Reinbold entry in this years Indianapolis 500. Scheckter, 29, will run the #23 Honda Powered-Dallara, in his 9th '500' with the 7th different team. The sponsorship announcement for the #23 car, and 3rd DRR entry, is set for Tuesday.
“We are excited to have Tomas join our team for the Indy 500. He did a great job for us last year and we are extremely happy that we were able to work something out with him for this event,” - Dreyer & Reinbold co-owner, Dennis Reinbold
“I’m really happy to be back with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and to be working with Larry Curry again. I feel at home. We had a great Indy test at the end of last year and I feel that the momentum that the team has built on the road/street courses with Mike and Justin we can carry that on to the ovals. Also, having Justin as my teammate last year at Indy, we worked very well together. Dennis and Robbie have been very supportive of getting this done and feel like we have a chance to do great things this year at the speedway,” - Tomas Scheckter
