Balloon Founders Race Photos

Today was the 2nd and final balloon race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway recognizing the 100 year anniversary of the first ever race at IMS, a gas-filled balloon race.

I haven't been to many hot air balloon events, ok actually none, but I'm pretty sure there not supposed to land in the middle of streets and in front of peoples homes.

Chasing Balloons

Chasing Balloons, that's what I plan on doing tomorrow morning. While some 35,000 runners including 2 Indycar drivers begin their 13.1 mile quest, I'll be on the road.

Both the balloon and mini-marathon races are set to get underway at 7:30 a.m. at which point time I'll park in Speedway and check the wind. Hopefully It'll be blowing east, so the balloons will float away from Indy and the road closings. If all goes well, I should be able to get some pretty good photos from the beginning, middle, and end of the race.

I'll have my laptop with me, so expect the first round of pictures to be posted between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.
