The NBC Sports Group announced Tuesday the addition of former IndyCar champion Paul Tracy to the booth for six Verizon IndyCar Series events. Tracy will join returning play-by-play man Leigh Diffey and analyst Townsend Bell. Wally Dallenbach Jr. will return on a part-time basis as he focuses on the start of his daughter's racing career.
In the pits, Marty Snider, Jon Beekhuis and Kevin Lee all return for another season of IndyCar coverage and will be joined by newcomer Kelli Stavast. In addition, NBCSN talent David Hobbs, Steve Matchett, Bob Varsha and Brian Till will all join Verizon IndyCar Series telecasts for select events in 2014.
The network also announced that they'll once again air race qualifying on their coverage weekends on either NBCSN or CNBC. 12 of the network's 13 races will run LIVE on NBCSN while the Firestone 600 in Texas will air on CNBC.
In addition to Carb Day and Indianapolis 500 Festival Parade coverage, NBCSN will air 10 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires races including the events in St. Pete (4/4), Long Beach (4/13), Barber (4/27), Indianapolis Freedom 100 (5/23), Grand Prix of Indianapolis (5/24), Pocono (7/6), Toronto (7/20), Mid-Ohio (8/3), Milwaukee (8/17) & Sonoma (8/24).
