With 6,264 laps turned this month, Day 5 is in the books with rookie Josef Newgarden back atop the time sheet. The day wasn't without incident however when Newgarden spun late in the day in Turn 4 make minimal contact. Although all four tires were flat spotted the only chassis damage appeared to be a small part of the front wing and a scuff on the left side rear wheel guard.
