RIP Jim Rathmann

1960 Indianapolis 500 winner Jim Rathmann has passed away at the age of 83 in Melbourne, Florida.

Rathmann competed at Indianapolis 14 times, with 1 win (1960) 5 top 5's (3 2nds), 7 top 10's, 6 races led (153 laps, 37th all-time), racking up 3 front row starts, and piloted the pace car 6 times (1969, 1972-74, 1978 & 1982) tied for the most all time with Sam Hanks.

The loss of Rathmann leaves Parnelli Jones with the distinction of the oldest living '500' winner at the age of 78.
