5th Chassis Released

Led by Bruce Ashmore, Alan Mertens, Tim Wardrop, (BAT) Engineering, the 5th proposed chassis manufacturer has released images and more information today. Ashmore, part of the 1990 Indy 500 winning team and 4 consecutive IndyCar Championships has past experience working at both Reynard and Lola. Mertens' designs have won 6 Indy 500's, 4 poles and the CART Championship in '85 & '86. Wardrop, helped design the first two generations of the G-Force chassis for the IRL and aided in Arie Luyendyk's record breaking runs in 1996.

It seems the key to the new chassis is safety. The BAT team has met with well known surgeon Dr. Terry Trammell and IndyCar's safety and technical directors to put together, what they believe, is an incredibly safe and reliable design.

I like the lateral view of the car...I don't like the two "arms" coming out from the body...
