Coyne & Boy Scouts Of America Team Up

In what could be a spectacular marketing opportunity, Dale Coyne Racing will run the #19 Boy Scouts of America Dallara in all 17 races on the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series schedule. The agreement coincides with the 100 year anniversary of BSA. For most of 2009 DCR ran the #18, so it's unclear if this will be a 1-car team or if they'll return to their 2008 2-car program.

According to Boy Scouts of America "This is a multiyear program and will continue well past the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Boy Scouts of America". More information on the agreement may come out around 3pm est when DCR and BSA hold a conference call, stay tuned.

“This is a program with true heart. From watching a young boy’s first Pinewood Derby to helping him learn and apply the disciplines of science and technology using the excitement of IndyCar. The message we will convey is the significance of education and the value of preparing for a rapidly advancing hi-tech world.” -Team Owner, Dale Coyne

“Racing is a modern day way to connect with youth and to further Scouting’s dedication to expanding tomorrow’s leaders through education, math, science and engineering. We are grateful to Dale and Gail Coyne and their entire racing team for making this incredible opportunity possible.” -Chief Scout Executive, Bob Mazzuca

It would be funny (and typical) if a women drove the "Boy Scouts" car.

Kinda like a Brit driving the National Guard car.

This is a great article! It's really exciting to see the Boy Scouts in popular culture, and we hope more and more things like this happen. It's truly incredible, and we hope you'll support the IndyCar series, as well!
The benefits of Scouting resonate throughout the Scouter's life, helping in relationships, careers, hobbies, emergency situations, and education.

We are the Hoosier Trails Council in central Indiana. Local councils around the country have lots of great events planned during this centennial year.
~ Feb 20, our council is hosting a centennial Pinewood Derby & Dodgeball Tournament, with trophies and patches!
~ May 1-2, our council is having the biggest alumni reunion since the council began in 1973. Eagle Scouts from around the country, who are a part of Council 145, will be attending this huge reunion and gala event.

Support the Boy Scouts as we celebrate 100 years and continue the journey for another 100!
