Dreyer and Reinbold Racing announced Thursday the signing of Sage Karam to the team's entry in May's Indianapolis 500. DRR will once again partner with Davey Hamilton's Kingdom Racing for the effort.
“We, at Kingdom Racing, are extremely excited to be joining Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and Sage Karam for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500,” said Kingdom Racing’s Managing Director Davey Hamilton. “We have past experience with Sage and have confidence we can be contenders for the win.”
Karam, who will be attempting to make his 3rd '500', will be sponsored by Gas Monkey Garage. Led by Richard Rawlings, Gas Monkey Garage is featured on Discovery Channel's "Fast N' Loud". Rawlings is also expanding the brand into the energy drink business with Gas Monkey Energy. 2004 Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Rice is a part owner in the drink company.
Karam, who'll run the No. 24, ran a DRR entry his rookie year at Indianapolis partnered with Chip Ganassi.
