Andretti Signs Wilson

Andretti Autosport announced Friday morning the signing of IndyCar veteran Justin Wilson to the team's lineup in May's Grand Prix of Indianapolis and Indianapolis 500.

With 7 wins, 26 podiums and 8 poles over his 11 year Verizon IndyCar Series career, Wilson joins Andretti Autosport on a partial-season basis in the No. 25 car after multiple full-time deals for the 2015 season fell through with the team. Simona De Silvestro, who is competing for the team this weekend in St. Petersburg in the No. 25, is also running a partial-season with the defending Indianapolis 500 Champions. The Swiss driver, at this point, is only confirmed for the season opener.

Andretti Autosport is working with both Wilson and De Silvestro as well as other drivers to run their 4th entry full-time and a possible 5th entry part-time.

Steak 'n Shake To Sponsor Rahal

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing announced Tuesday the signing of Steak 'n Shake to the team's 2015 sponsor lineup. The restaurant, who are making their first foray into Indy Car, will be the primary sponsor on the No. 15 entry of Graham Rahal at Long Beach, the Grand Prix of Indianapolis, Indianapolis 500, Detroit and Mid-Ohio. The Indianapolis based company will also be an associate sponsor for the 11other events.

“I’ve been eating them since I was 11. Finally, free Steakburgers!” said team co-owner David Letterman.

Maxim Magazine will also be featured on Rahal's entry. The magazine is owned by Biglari Holdings Inc., also the parent company of Steak 'n Shake.

The team announced earlier this month D-A Lubricant as primary sponsor in New Orleans. The company, who sponsored cars at Indianapolis in the 1950's, also signed a multi-year agreement as a major associate on the team's primary entry.

2015 '500' Ticket Unveiled

The 2015 Indianapolis 500 ticket was unveiled Thursday in downtown Indianapolis.

Featuring Ryan Hunter-Reay chugging milk in Victory Lane, the long-held tradition of the defending champion's likeness highlighting the following year's ticket continues.

Hunter-Reay was unable to attend the presentation, but for good reason. He and wife Becky had just welcomed their 2nd child into the world.

"I think we have a good excuse here (to miss the unveil). I’m sure you’ll be seeing him at the racetrack, we already have his DHL firesuit on order."

Tickets for the Angie's List Grand Prix of Indianapolis and 99th Running of the Indianapolis 500 are on sale now.
